Had Dra

Had Dra is a half-day excursion from Essaouira that combines a slice of rural Moroccan life with the Atlantic coast. It centers on the weekly souk of Had Draa, a genuinely local market rather than a tourist-oriented one, followed by a drive through argan forest where the region's famous tree-climbing goats are a common sight.

After visiting a women-run argan oil cooperative, the route continues to Sidi Kaouki for a walk along its wide, wild beach, before looping back toward Essaouira past Diabat village — known for its connection to Jimi Hendrix, who is said to have visited the area in the late 1960s.

It's an easy half-day option if you want a taste of the countryside and coast around Essaouira without committing a full day.
