About This Excursion
Ourika Valley is the closest mountain escape from Marrakech — a green, fertile valley carved by the Ourika River, lined with Berber villages whose terraced fields climb the red-ochre slopes of the High Atlas foothills.
This full-day excursion explores the valley's villages and stops at a women-run argan oil cooperative to see traditional production methods. You'll continue on to Setti Fatma, known for its series of waterfalls, before sitting down for lunch at a riverside restaurant with your feet practically in the water.
Being only about an hour from Marrakech, it's the easiest mountain day trip to fit into a shorter stay, while still delivering genuine Atlas scenery and Berber village life.
