Essaouira Day Trip

Essaouira couldn't feel more different from Marrakech — a windswept Atlantic port city with whitewashed, blue-shuttered buildings, a UNESCO-listed medina, and a relaxed pace that draws artists, surfers and travelers seeking sea air after the desert heat.

This full-day trip gives you free time to explore the medina's winding streets and woodworking souks, walk the historic Skala ramparts overlooking the harbor and its old cannons, watch the blue fishing boats unload at the port, and wander the former Jewish quarter (Mellah). Along the way, you'll also stop at a women-run argan oil cooperative to see how the oil is traditionally pressed.
